A successful EuroHPC SUMMIT 2025 – KRAKÓW POLAND

This year the EuroHPC Summit 2025 took place on 18-20 March in Kraków, Poland. HIGHER was delighted to have project coordinator Manolis Marazakis represent the project as part of the panel discussion, “Breaking the Dogmas: Redefining the System Software Stack for Next-Gen HPC Applications and Architectures”

The event brought together over 1,000 experts, industry partners, and policymakers to discuss advancements and future directions in High-Performance Computing (HPC), quantum computing, and artificial intelligence (AI).

Themed “Bridging the HPC, Quantum, and AI Communities Across Europe,” the summit served as a platform to showcase the latest achievements in the European supercomputing ecosystem and to address current and future challenges in these fields.

Key topics covered during the event included AI factories, chip technology, quantum computing, and the scientific and societal breakthroughs enabled by supercomputers. There were many notable speakers including Henna Virkkunen – Executive Vice-President for Tech Sovereignty, Security and Democracy, European Commission, Maria Mrówczyńska, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Poland; Dariusz Standerski, Deputy Minister of Digital Affairs; and Thomas Skordas from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content, and Technology.

The summit also provided opportunities for networking and collaboration among the European supercomputing community, fostering discussions on technological advancements and strategies to shape the future of HPC, quantum computing, and AI in Europe.
