April 29–30, 2025
We are proud to announce the HIGHER Project will feature at this year’s OCP EMEA Summit in Dublin, a key gathering of global technical leaders focused on addressing data centre sustainability, energy efficiency, and heat reuse through innovations from hyperscale operators. The 2025 summit will emphasise sustainability, AI, security, power and cooling, and real-world deployments, alongside talks on emerging fields like quantum tech and telecommunications. It will also feature the Future Technologies Symposium, spotlighting long-term innovations from academia and startups, with a $10,000 prize for the best paper. Attendees can explore cutting-edge solutions in a full expo hall and engage directly with tech demonstrations in the Innovation Village.
Panel discussion: “The RISC Paradigm Shift: Open Hardware Advancements and the Path to Sustainable Digitalization”
Wed, April 30, 14:00 – 14:30 | Level 1 – Liffey Hall 2
The European Processor Initiative (EPI) is a significant European endeavour aimed at developing a family of low-power, high-performance RISC processors specifically designed for supercomputing, big data, and distributed compute applications. The adoption of RISC architectures marks a paradigm shift in the market. RISC provides an open, multi-supplier, multi-vendor, and interoperable telco edge cloud reference architecture and ecosystem that aligns with Europe’s digital decade targets. EU-funded projects like HIGHER and RISER exemplify this commitment by advancing open-source ecosystems and cloud infrastructures. This panel will discuss the anticipated changes brought about by this RISC paradigm shift in the hardware stack and its potential impact on other data centre components, such as cooling and power electronics. Additionally, the panel discussion will explore how the European processor ecosystem can further contribute to the OCP Open Chiplet Economy Sub-Project.
We look forward to seeing you there!
